Structural bonding by MMA adhesive for Edorado vessels
Together Mastikol and its knowledge in structural bonding, Edorado was looking for a durable solution in “fixing” metal parts on Carbon fiber structure; Mastikol reacted quickly due its high experience in definitive bonding of different materials for Marine and Automotive manufacturing.
In this kind of boat several panels and electrical boxes to be mounted to the internal construction via the use of 316 stainless-steel fasteners to support. The fasteners can be bonded to difficult carbon composite vertical sides also, thanks of the no-sag properties of Mastikol MMA adhesive were possible to fix all the kind of designed instruments and electrical supporters accordingly, reducing all the long operations of manual lamination and/or avoiding problematic welding for the metal brackets.
MK 30 series has the key-property to provide a durable and slightly flexible joint, so that it can withstand the severe stresses expected of a vessel in action in the ocean: humidity, vibration, shock, heating, salinity…
The MK 30-05 bonding has solved all the wishes required for internal cabling and at the same time provides a potential solution for structural additional reinforcements of the hull.
